Biography:

Throughout my childhood I was always drawn into the sciences and loved tutoring other students. As I graduated high school, I was torn between being a teacher or a nurse. After three years, I applied into nursing diploma program which allowed me to work fulltime and go to school in the evening. Three years later, I succeeded on becoming a nurse. I continued my education receiving a BSN from Jersey City University and then went on for my MSN as an Adult nurse practitioner at Seton Hall University. I worked as a nurse throughout my studies and came across an opening at a local University teaching undergraduate nursing students pediatrics and maternity. I always had teaching in the back of my mind. After working six years for the University, I applied into the RN to BSN Fast Track Faculty position at Felician College teaching nurses who are advancing their careers. I also wanted to further my career so had started pursuing my PhD in Nursing Education at Capella University. Recently I accepted a position for program director of the RN-BSN Fast Track. Now, looking back on more than twenty three years of nursing and eleven years of teaching undergraduate nursing students, I have fulfilled my childhood dream of incorporating my two loves teaching and nursing. I believe that a good educator is one who guides and gives the student the tools needed in pursuing their dreams and becoming self-directed learners.
