Attitude Against Violence Project Coordinator

Felician University is presently seeking dedicated, knowledgeable and experienced  professional to serve as the Attitudes Against Violence Project Coordinator.  The Project Coordinator for the Attitudes Against Violence project will provide programmatic coordination for the $300,000 grant funded by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), U.S. Department of Justice, implemented by the Division of Student Affairs. The grant funds sexual violence prevention and education initiatives at the Felician University. He/she administers a variety of trainings and education programming events designed to education, train and change student’s attitudes towards sexual violence and intervention.

Position Type:

Full-time, 8 months, Non-exempt

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in counseling, education, student affairs personnel administration, psychology, or related field preferred.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years’ experience in the field of sexual assault prevention, education, counseling or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Superior group facilitation skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation involving violence against women issues;
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to mentor and instruct students.
  • Proven experience in the utilization of innovative approaches to address sexual violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in and commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
  • Ability to work autonomously, particularly in the areas of program development and management.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Program experience in student affairs preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to support and promote the Felician Franciscan mission and vales of the University.
