Biography

I have been teaching full time for over 23 years, been involved in the development of new programs, majors and classes, and have been Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice. I am currently a Full Professor of Criminal Justice at Felician University. I am the author of more than thirty publications in the areas of policing, domestic violence, restorative justice and crisis intervention. I teach Research Methods as my staple course, as well as Victimology, Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency, and FYE.
I have published book chapters, book reviews and journal articles, and have presented papers at local and national conferences. I am a textbook reviewer, a manuscript reviewer, a member of many advisory boards, and a volunteer for many organizations, especially those that support my Italian heritage. My first book, Police and Citizen Perceptions of Police Power, was published in 2004 (Edwin Mellen Press). My second book, The Use and Abuse of Police Power in America with ABC-CLIO/Greenwood/Praeger, was released in May of 2017. I am currently working on my third book with ABC-CLIO/Greenwood/Praeger. It is entitled, Sexual Harassment and Misconduct: An Encyclopedia. I obtained my B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University, and my M.A. and Ph.D. from the School of Criminal Justice-Rutgers Newark. My free time is spent with my husband and three children. I live in Morris County and enjoy reading on the beach (Jersey Shore), jogging and Zumba.
