Biography

Dr. John C. Burke Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral, obtained his Ph.D. from a Joint Doctoral Interdisciplinary Program in the Speech and Hearing Sciences with emphasis on educational, psychological, and neurophysiological aspects of communication and social development in children with autism at the University of California, Santa Barbara and University of California, San Francisco Medical School.

He was invited to participate in a Post-Doctoral Fellowship on the Application of Applied Behavior Analysis within the Departments of Behavioral Psychology and Pediatrics, The Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has served as a lead researcher with an established team under the auspicious of Vice President Gore’s National Reinvention Initiative through the U.S. Department of Defense. His work has led to several invited presentations including a joint session delivered at the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS): Global Forum on Disability in the Information Society. Geneva, Switzerland.

Through a community based non-profit he started with his wife, they provided services to children and families and became leaders across the northeast region for the delivery of highly specialized intervention programs. In February, he joined Felician University as the Executive Director of the International Center for Autism and Disabilities Research. His current research emphasis is on developing an Infant Eye-tracking and Child Learning Program with a focus on assessing underlying factors that influence attention, social reciprocity, gaze shifting, receptive and expressive communications, joint attention and social skills. In addition, he is initiating several lines of research within schools.
