Special Education – Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Autism Studies

Phase I
  • 24-credit program satisfies the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BACB) requirements for coursework for becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
    • This program includes 6-credit practicum experience over 2 semesters following the completion of required coursework
  • Evening and online classes

* These courses are BACB VCS ApprovedBACB VCS Approved

Phase II
  • Completion of 12 credits (or as required for additional certification) that allow candidates to explore additional professional opportunities (Supervision, and Teacher of Students with Disabilities)
  • Implementation of evidence-based practices are emphasized
  • Individualized programs based on a candidate’s interest will be developed in conjunction with their program advisor
  • Additional requirements as per the BACB requirements to become a BCBA
Admission Requirements
  • Completed application to the School of Education Graduate Programs and $40 application fee
  • Graduation from an accredited baccalaureate program with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (flexible)
  • Official transcripts of past collegiate work including post-baccalaureate work
  • Statement of Professional Interest
  • Interview with Associate Dean and the Advanced Program Committee
