Post Masters Certificate: Adult-Gerontology or Family Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care

The Post Master’s Certificate Program prepares nurses with an MSN for independent primary care practice as an Adult-Gerontology (AGNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in a wide range of settings. Upon completing the program, you are eligible to apply for national certification from the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the State Board of Nursing for licensure as an APN.

Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Post Master’s Certificate Program in Primary Care

To complete your AGNP certificate, you will earn 28 credits at Felician University and complete 585 hours of clinical practice and on-campus intensives in designated courses. We will accept transfer credits from another Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by a national accrediting agency:

  • Credits must have been earned within the past five years with a grade of B or higher.
  • The Associate Dean of the Department of Graduate Nursing will determine the equivalency of courses and transfer credits on an individual basis after the student has been accepted into the program.
  • Clinical courses, if considered for transfer credits, must contain the equivalent clinical experience/hours.
  • A minimum of 10 credits must be completed at Felician University.
  • Clinical hours must total 585.
Family Nurse Practitioner Post Master’s Certificate Program in Primary Care

To complete your FNP certificate, you will earn 31 credits at Felician University and 650 clinical hours and on-campus intensives in designated courses. We will accept transfer credits from another Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by a national accrediting agency:

  • Credits must have been earned within the past five years with a grade of B or higher.
  • The Associate Dean of the Department of Graduate Nursing will determine the equivalency of courses and transfer credits on an individual basis after the student has been accepted into the program.
  • Clinical courses, if considered for transfer credits, must contain the equivalent clinical experience/hours.
  • A minimum of 12 credits must be completed at Felician University.
  • Clinical hours must total 650.
