Elementary & Special Education: K-6 & Teacher of Students with Disabilities with Middle School (5-8) Endorsement (MA)

This program will prepare you for initial teacher licensure in the State of New Jersey in three specialized areas: Early Childhood, Teacher of Students with Disabilities, and Middle School. Enhance your marketability to school employers by learning how to build creative, modern, and inclusive learning environments suited to the varying ages, abilities, and backgrounds of New Jersey students. You’ll also learn teaching philosophies according to local, state, and national trends, as well as how to utilize culturally responsive practices.

In this program, you don’t have to wait to get in the classroom. You’ll begin observing students in the classroom, developing lesson plans, and eventually, teaching students. You’ll be placed in both general and special education settings, gaining a profound and compassionate understanding of the varied ways in which different individuals learn.
You can complete this program within four years through either a traditional, cohort, or working adult model in accordance with the New Jersey Department of Education guidelines.

As you prepare for your teaching certification, you’ll also earn your Master of Arts in Education, empowering you to earn more money as a teacher in New Jersey.
