Felician University’s Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice program prepares students for a variety of positions in the criminal justice field. At Felician, we emphasize the repair of harm caused by criminal behavior through cooperative processes such as victim-offender mediation, restitution, and ex-offender assistance programs. Your studies will focus on restorative justice and community alternatives to traditional models of incarceration and punishment.

Specializations and Courses
As part of this major, you have the opportunity to focus on a particular area of specialization by choosing from two tracks within the program: Crime and Society or Police Studies. You will learn about crime theories in contemporary society or the changing models of law enforcement in a Post-911 era. A Forensics Certificate is also available.
Criminal Justice majors learn basic criminal justice, constitutional law, and forensic science as early as their freshman year. Graduates of this program also study victimology, criminology, and critical thinking.

In their senior year, students participate in an internship to gain hands-on experience. Our students have gained real-world experience through internships at the FBI, county sheriff’s offices, county prosecutor’s offices, police departments, and state departments of probation. Our location in Rutherford, New Jersey is close to popular cities such as Newark and New York City that hold many internship and career opportunities.
