Blessing of the Animals Tradition Continues
In the tradition of the Felician Sisters, Felician University embraces the heritage and spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi. On or about his October 4 Feast Day, we celebrate the blessing of the animals to highlight his reverence for all creation and our interdependence with all life around us.
Community members brought dogs, cats, and other special pets to campus today as Fr. Tom Franks, OFM Cap., Vice President of Mission Integration, performed the blessing. He was joined in the commemorating St. Francis by Sr. Aquinas Szott, CSSF, and Jennifer Monsalve, Director of Campus Ministry.
