Dr. Anthony Scardino Addresses Fall Senior Citizens Group

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Dr. Anthony Scardino, Associate Dean for the School of Business and Information Sciences, gave an exciting and informative presentation to Felician University’s Older is Better program on Friday, October 6, in Obal Hall on the Lodi campus.

Dr. Scardino spoke about Felician University’s partnership program with Belfast, Ireland and the opportunity that MBA students and faculty experience on their annual week-long trip to Ireland. During the meeting, Dr. Scardino gave a brief history of Northern Ireland and the troubled events which led to the society of Belfast today. Dr. Scardino shared how his own Irish background made him truly appreciate the rich culture and historic landmarks which the Felician teams visit and learn about. Some of these include the Giant’s Causeway, the Peace Wall, the Titanic Museum, the Big Fish, famous pubs and more. In addition to the experience, students also received 3 credits upon completion of the program.

After each Friday’s presentation, the Older is Better group reconvenes in Goya Dining Hall where coffee and light refreshments are served. The next meeting will take place on October 13, and will feature Chris Ford, Physical Therapist and Owner of the Raising the Bar Rehabilitation and Fitness. He will discuss Balance and Fall Prevention.

Older is Better is an open membership program designed for men and women 55 and older. The program features keynote speakers, activities, programs and light refreshments every Friday during the academic year and at the end of every semester we conclude with a luncheon. Meetings take place on Friday afternoons at 1pm in Obal Hall on the Lodi Campus. For more information, email supervillej@felician.edu.
