Bill Tipacti and Damaris Diaz

RUTHERFORD, NJFelician University School of Business and Information Sciences will be hosting “Living Our Life Story” on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, from 1:00-2:15pm in the Lenke Family Center for Innovation on the 3rd floor of Sr. Theresa Mary Martin Hall on the Rutherford campus.

The event will feature two guest speakers from Univision TV, Bill Tipacti, Senior Director of Community Empowerment, and Damaris Diaz, Co-Host at Unimas. This event, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, offers students an opportunity to hear stories about the life experiences of guest speakers on their journey through challenge to success.

The first speaker, Bill Tipacti, joined the office Community Empowerment in October of 2018, after a long career in the newsroom. In this role, Tipacti continued to deepen Univision NY’s ties to the communities it serves by developing and fostering partnerships with local community organizations, institutions, and service providers, while also coordinating and executing the Company’s award-winning community empowerment platform Univision NY Contigo in the Tri-state area. He is also in charge of the weekly community show Amigos de Univision which airs on Saturdays at 12:30pm.

Tipacti has been a part of Univision New York’s legacy for more than 28 years, building his career around informing and empowering the community as a long-time, Emmy-winning journalist and producer. Bill is an alumnus of Seton Hall University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.

Damaris Diaz received national exposure when she began her on-air television career as the New York correspondent for Univision networks, “Republica Deportiva”, a national weekly program that profiled famous sports figures in 2013.

In 2010, she began corresponding for “Despierta America,” Univision’s national morning show, developing interesting stories from the NY tri-state area and traveling the world covering movie premieres and interviewing Hollywood actors on the set on their films. She continues to thrive on “Despierta America,” moving into the News platform. She recently received two Emmy nominations for her work on Noticias Univision 41 and “Sabados con los NY Giants.” You can also catch her on Saturday, hosting “Amigos de Univision,” as well as other special assignments on Univision’s local news and media platforms.

Damaris has interviewed a long list of Hollywood stars such as Sandra Bullock, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone, Kristen Stewart, Chris Rock, Rita Moreno, Liam Neeson, Dwayne Johnson “The Rock”, Jennifer Lawrence and Adam Sandler, as well as world-renowned singers and performers like Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony, and Celia Cruz. Oscar de la Hoya, Manny Paquiao, and Mariano Rivera are also among the growing list of sports figures that have appeared in her features.

Please join us for this opportunity to hear about these invaluable experiences and tribulations that our guest speakers went through and overcame.
