Felician University’s CARE Team: Coordinate, Assess, Response, and Education

Our CARE Team is committed to promoting campus safety and wellness chaired by the Assistant Vice President for Student Life. Through collaborative efforts we identify, assess, and respond to student concerns on campus; assisting students who may be in crisis. The primary focus of the CARE Team is to take a proactive approach to identifying struggling students and provide early intervention, resources, and referrals, both on campus and in the community.

A report may avert serious difficulties and ensure the student’s and Felician University’s safety. The CARE Team develops a support plan for students to help them deal effectively with personal situations that might impact their academic performance and overall well-being.

The CARE Team is made up of employees from the Office of the Dean of Students, Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, University Security, Counseling and Wellness Services, Title IX and Institutional Equity, Enrollment Management, and Center for Academic Success & Effectiveness Academic. Additionally, colleagues from additional departments are brought in on an as-needed basis, such as Student Disability Services, Academic Units, Athletics, Housing and Residential Life, and CASE.

If you have a concern about a student, please submit a Student of Concern Referral here.

(Here is a video to assist in navigating the referral.)

We will determine, based on the level of risk and concern, whether the student will be referred to the CARE Team. If you are having trouble with the referral form, or have any questions, please contact CareTeam@felician.edu

Additionally, during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm), contact the Office of the Dean of Students by phone at 201-559-3512 or come into the Office of the Dean of Students in the Student Center at the Rutherford Campus.
