Former Deputy Chief Named Head of Campus Safety & Security
Felician University has announced the new head of Campus Safety and Security as Chief Gary Boesch.
Chief Boesch stated, “I was extremely fortunate to have had a law enforcement career at an agency that afforded me so much and now once again, I’m equally as fortunate to have this opportunity with The Anzilotti Group and Felician University. Because I have long been affiliated with higher education and collegiate settings, coupled with my policing and administrative background, I hope that I can offer a fresh perspective on campus safety.”
In 2007, Chief Boesch started in the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office (BCPO) as Deputy Chief. He ultimately oversaw all criminal investigations, the Bergen County Rapid Deployment Team, the Child Abduction Response Team, and the Bergen County Police Academy.
Currently, he teaches forensic science as an adjunct professor at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where he’s been for the last 16 years. Upon his recent retirement from BCPO, he joined the Anzilotti Group, which is a national security and investigations consultancy. The Anzilotti Group is what brought him to Felician and Chief Boesch showed his gratitude towards working here.
He said, “I have been impressed by the dedication and professionalism that I have witnessed so far from the Felician Security team. I am also encouraged by the support I have received from the University Administration during this transition in the Security Department. I look forward to working with both security staff and the administrators to create new policies and implement more current technology to better facilitate daily operations and keep Felician a safe space.”
Chief Boesch holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Jersey City State College and a master’s degree in Education from New Jersey City University.
