Elisee (Eli) Joseph believes it’s important to cultivate a good rapport with professionals outside of the classroom.  His participation in the 2017 Graduate Symposium at Felician University was the impetus for him to share ideas beyond the walls of the university.

A Doctor of Business Administration candidate at Felician University, statistician, Google programming scholar and economic professor at Queens College and Marymount Manhattan College, Eli was recently nominated to make a TEDx presentation at Syracuse University.  He was encouraged by mathematics professor to apply to an upcoming TEDx conference, and successfully cultivated more than 200 nominations from friends, family, and other professionals.

“A non-traditional program enabled me to connect with other professionals which effectively leads to great opportunities,” Eli said.

The event combined TEDTalk video and live speakers to spark deep discussion and connection on a variety of topics.  Eli’s session examined how he created a model that enables people to determine a successful sports team without a scoreboard. During his presentation at Syracuse, Eli redefined renowned UCLA men’s basketball coach John Wooden’s distinction between winning and succeeding through the art of mathematics and sports analysis.
