Jaime Casap and Carla Harris to Speak at Felician University’s 2018 Commencement

Jaime Casap, Chief Educational Evangelist at Google,Inc. and Carla Harris, Vice Chairman, Wealth Management, Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor for Morgan Stanley – and recipient of Felician University’s 2017 MLK, Jr. Legacy Award – will be the keynote speakers at Felician University’s 2018 Commencement ceremonies.

To enable students to invite more family members to view their graduation, there will be two commencement exercises held in the Breslin Theatre. The first ceremony – when Casap will speak – begins at 10:30 am and includes graduates from the schools of Arts & Sciences and Education. The second ceremony – when Harris will speak – begins at 3:30 pm and includes graduates from the schools of Business and Nursing.

At Google, Jaime Casap evangelizes the power and potential of technology and the web as enabling and supporting tools in pursuit of promoting inquiry-driven learning models. Casap has been part of the original team that launched Google Apps for universities, launched Google Apps into K through 12 schools, and helped get Chromebooks off the ground and into school.  Mr. Casap collaborates with school systems, educational organizations, and leaders focused on building innovation and iteration into our education policies and practices. He speaks on education, technology, innovation, and generation z, at events around the world.

In addition to his role at Google, he is also an author, adjunct professor at Arizona State University and serves on a number of boards for organizations focused on education, innovation, and equity. Mr. Casap received a Masters of Public Administration and Masters of Public Policy from Arizona State University.

Carla Harris is a Vice Chairman, Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley. She is responsible for increasing client connectivity and penetration to enhance revenue generation across the firm. Carla’s passion lies in helping others. In 2013, Ms. Harris was appointed by President Obama to chair the National Women’s Business Council.  Ms. Harris is the immediate past Chair of the Board of the Morgan Stanley Foundation and sits on the boards of the Food Bank for NYC; The Executive Leadership Council; The Toigo Foundation; Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO); A Better Chance, Inc; Mt. Sinai and St. Vincent’s Hospitals; Xavier University.  She is also co-chair of the National Social Action Commission of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and served as a member of the Board of Overseers’ Committee on University Resources, Harvard University.

Ms. Harris received an MBA from Harvard Business School, Second Year Honors and an AB in economics from Harvard University, Magna Cum Laude.  She is also the author of the book, Strategize to Win and of Expect to Win (2009) (Hudson Press).
