Felician to Host Eighth Annual Hall of Fame Banquet

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician University is proud to announce the Eighth Annual Felician Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, September 24 at 6pm in the renovated Joal and Joseph Job Gymnasium adjacent to the new Wellness and Recreation Center (WaRC) on the Rutherford campus. This marks the first time the banquet will be held on a Felician campus.

The Felician Athletics Hall of Fame will introduce six new inductees – Sr. Theresa Mary Martin, the University’s fourth President; the 2009-2010 Men’s Basketball Team; cross-country runner, Rob Albano (2014); softball’s Ciera Clark (2015); and baseball players, Eric Miceli (2002) and Mickey A. Zudonyi (2011).

Sister Theresa Mary Martin will be inducted posthumously. The President of Felician College from 1984-2012, Sister was instrumental in bringing the Division II intercollegiate athletics program to Felician. By the time she retired, Felician had 10 NCAA Division II teams and a dozen CACC championships. Sister Theresa passed away on December 16, 2019, at the age of 87.

The 2009-2010 Men’s Basketball Team had a 24-7 record which contains the most victories in program history. Led by head coach, Dave DeFerrari, the team tied for the CACC North Division regular-season title. They went on to win the CACC Championship.

Rob Albano, the most decorated cross-country runner in Felician history, went undefeated his senior year during the regular season. He became the CACC’s first repeat Male Runner of the Year. Albano was voted the 2013 CACC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Ciera Clark was a three-time all-CACC selection at first base. In 2014, she became the first All-Region softball player in Felician history. Clark remains Felician’s all-time leader in runs scored and doubles.

Eric Miceli was the program’s first All-Region and All-America selection. He was a two-time All-CACC designated hitter. Miceli currently ranks second in career batting average within school history.

Mickey A. Zudonyi was the sole captain of the Golden Falcons in 2012. That year, the team went on to win the CACC regular-season championship. Zudonyi was elected to the All-CACC team twice and earned Second-Team All-Region Honors as a sophomore. He was also a three-time CACC All-Academic Honoree.

The Hall of Fame is currently comprised of 22 athletes, four contributors, two coaches, and four teams.
