Felician Professor Dr. Mary Norton to Chair UN Conference
Dr. Mary Norton, a long-time member of the Felician University faculty and current Associate Dean and Professor of Global Academic Initiatives, will serve as co-chair of the United Nations conference titled, “Intergenerational Dialogues on the Sustainable Development Goals.” The event will take place on August 1, 2017 at the UN’s headquarters in New York City from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is hosted by the UN Department of Public information and the NGO/DPI Executive Committee.
This day-long dialogue will serve to raise awareness of the high value that youth and older persons can bring to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These SDGs were adopted by United Nations (UN) Member States in September 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure human rights and prosperous and fulfilling lives for all by 2030.
In addition to Dr. Norton, Felician 2016 alumnus Chris Hall will be in attendance. Chris will be participating in the panel session titled, “Sharing Responsibility for the Planet.”
