Art Exhibit Comes to Rutherford Campus
New Art Exhibit Arrives at Felician University’s Rutherford Campus!
Felician University is pleased to announce that a group exhibition titled, “Outside In” is coming to its Rutherford campus, featuring the works of 12 New York-based artists. The campus grounds and Education Commons (227 Montross Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070) will be the combined site for the show.
The art will be on display from September 30 through November 30, with an opening reception to be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Education Commons as part of Felician’s Homecoming events.
Artists included in the exhibition are: Anney Bonney, Paul Corio, Rachael Gorchov, Frederick Hayes, Frank Holliday, Stephen Maine, Jim Osman, Rob de Oude, Scott Reeds, Hilda Shen, Tricia Wright and Natalia Zubko. Many of the artists will be on hand at the reception on September 30 to discuss their work.
The exhibit will bring to campus a diverse selection of painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and video, the purpose of which is to enrich student learning and widen the viewing experience within the community. The exhibition, organized by Scott Reeds, draws inspiration from the architecture and landscape of the vibrant setting. Through the abundant floor to ceiling glass panels a viewer has the opportunity to survey the show both outdoors and inside. “Outside In” is not only a sense of place but a process of exchanging ideas between artists and students.
An essay by Tom McGlynn will accompany a color catalog of the exhibition. Tom is a multi-media artist, writer, and poet whose work is represented in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, and The Cooper- Hewitt National Design Museum of the Smithsonian, among others.
“Outside In” is free and open to the public.
