Alumni Game Draws Women From Years Past

Alumni Game Brings Together Women from Felician University’s Past!

Felician University held its first Women’s Basketball Alumni Game on November 10.

About 18 players turned out from the graduating classes of 2004 – 2018, for what head coach Steve Fagan predicts will become an annual tradition.

Old classmates and friends reconnected on the court, making the game more about Felician spirit than shooting hoops.

Coach Fagan says “you know, from day one we’ve tried to preach about family. And it was such a great environment because these players brought their families, and a lot of them have little kids now.”

Coach Fagan, who has led Felician to five Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoff berths, says the Alumni games reinforce the benefits of participating in a sports program. “Sports always gives you something,” says the Coach, “you cross the gymnasium, or your softball, or soccer field, and you compete, and you try to win. But then when you cross back over those lines, you take care of your family, and work hard in your career.”

He tells his athletes to get up every morning, and work to make it another special day. The first Women’s Alumni Basketball Game was a very special day for him, his team, and the entire Felician University Community.
