Dr. Simone Flowers-Taylor is the current Director of Community Rights and Responsibility for Student Affairs (Office of Student Conduct). With over 20 years of professional experience with a combination in business and education, Dr. Flowers-Taylor will encourage the importance of Restorative Justice (Practice) Values.
Dr. Taylor will serve as an integral addition to the leadership within Student Affairs and will serve as one of the key contributors to the institution’s strategic initiatives regarding restorative justice. Her leadership style and managerial acumen will reinforce why it is important for students to comply with the institution’s policy. “I am willing to support all students, regardless of their unique situation”.
Restorative Justice embodies the five “Rs”, which captures the importance of why it is important to utilize when overseeing the Due Process of a conduct matter. The Restorative Lens focuses on the following during the decision making: Relationships, Responsibilities, Respect, Repair, and Reintegration. The Office of Community Rights and Responsibilities is intentional in making sure fairness is applied during the investigation process.
Dr. Flowers-Taylor’s motto, ‘Read, Retain, and Educate’ coincides with the Restorative Practice lens due to the intentionality in building stronger interpersonal relationships, while promoting a sense of belonging within the community.
“I am here to not only enforce the importance of Conduct, but also to share the reason why Restorative Justice is a great alignment to the mission of Felician. I look forward in my continuing connection with the campus community of Felician University… Go Falcons!!”
