Felician University is pleased to announce the appointment of former KPMG partner Robert P. Evans as Dean of the School of Business and Information Sciences.

“Bob Evans brings a remarkable, lifetime career of hands-on leadership experience to our School of Business and Information Sciences,” said Felician University president, Dr. Anne Prisco.  “His deep understanding of all levels of business infrastructure and operations, coupled with a proven track record of considerable domestic and international client responsibility while at KPMG, will be invaluable to both our faculty and student body.”

A partner at KPMG since 1983 until his retirement, Mr. Evans held a number of leadership positions within the company and in the business community. He was designated by the firm to be one of its initial partners to hold the title of International Audit Partner.  His strong international background led the firm to name him International Liaison Partner for Germany and the lead partner for two of its key global accounts.

Mr. Evans has served seven terms as Chairman of the New Jersey World Trade Council. The New Jersey World Trade Council is a non-profit organization comprised of prominent private and public companies and government agencies, which promotes international commerce as well as foreign investment in New Jersey. He has been publicly recognized for his leadership of this organization.

“Having been involved with the corporate world my entire career, I have always felt that a close working relationship between academia and business would be a win for both,” said Evans. “I look forward to helping Felician University develop partnerships with businesses to bring the best of both worlds to our students,” he added.

He was appointed by former Governor Christine Todd Whitman to be an ambassador to her Prosperity New Jersey, an initiative to promote and improve economic activity, job creation and the overall business climate in the State. He was also appointed by former Governor Whitman to the International Trade Subcommittee of the New Jersey Economic Master Plan Commission.

Mr. Evans was also appointed and served on the New Jersey District Export Council by the United States Department of Commerce, to the Corporation for Business Assistance by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and to the Advisory Board of “TradeLink”, a program developed by Public Service Electric & Gas to promote exports. He has represented KPMG and the State of New Jersey on overseas trade missions and he co-authored sections of the guidebook entitled Europe in the 1990’s – Implications and Strategies for New Jersey Businesses which was jointly written by KPMG LLP and the State of New Jersey Division of International Trade. He has also participated in panel discussions concerning international issues and lectured and written articles on international matters.

Additionally, Mr. Evans also served as chairman of The Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce and is currently on the Executive Board and on the Finance, Strategic Planning and Compensation committees. He is director and serves on the Finance committee of the Commerce and Industry Association and was the former treasurer of the Multiple Sclerosis of Society of Bergen and Passaic Counties.  Mr. Evans is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of CPAs. He was also active in the North New Jersey Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a member and past president of the New Jersey Meadowlands Chapter of the National Association of Accountants, as well as past treasurer of the Shakespeare Festival.

A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Mr. Evans received a BS in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude. He has also completed executive KPMG-sponsored courses at Stanford University and the Wharton School.  He resides in Franklin Lakes, NJ with his wife. His two children live and work in New York City and are involved in the Finance industry.
