Week 2 of the Friday FRESH Message from Dr. John Burke

Dear Felician University Community,

Welcome to Week 2 of the Friday FRESH Message from the SCC (Standing COVID Committee). In this message, I will recap some critical points regarding Felician University COVID-19 policy and procedures as well as share some important updates.

Booster Requirement
• All eligible members of the Felician University Community who participate in on campus activities require a COVID-19 booster vaccination by January 10, 2022.

• Individuals are eligible to receive a booster if it has been at least two months since their one-dose Johnson & Johnson shot or at least six months after completing their two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series.
• Students: Submit proof of vaccination via the student portal. Note: Students must use their Felician email to access the student portal.
• Faculty and staff: Submit proof of vaccination by sending a copy of your vaccination card to the
Office of Human Resources.

All Students and Faculty
• Classes will begin as scheduled on Monday, January 24 with remote instruction. There are exceptions to remote learning for students in certain clinical/field placements including Nursing clinical courses.
• Face-to-face classes will begin on Monday, February 7.
• Masking indoors will be required.

Staff
• Except for essential personnel, administrative and staff offices will continue to operate remotely until Monday, January 17.
• Masking indoors will be required at that time.

Testing
• All students, faculty, and staff members engaged in on campus activities are required to submit a negative PCR test before returning to our campuses.
• Students: Submit PCR results via the student portal Note: Students must use their Felician email to access the student portal.
• Faculty and staff: Submit PCR results to the Office of Human Resources
• Deadlines for submitting testing results are as follows:
Those returning on January 17, 2022, submit by January 10, 2022.
Students moving in on January 22-23, 2022, submit by January 14, 2022.
Those returning on or after February 7, 2022, submit by January 31, 2022.
• If you test positive, contact Carolyn Lewis, Director of Health Services for next steps.
• Visit the New Jersey COVID website or the Felician Vaccination webpage for testing sites.
• Felician University’s testing site is located on the Rutherford campus at 217 Montross Avenue in the white house to the left of Ed Commons. Hours of operation are 8am to 6pm. Note: 8am to 11am are exclusively for Felician University and it is strongly encouraged that you arrive between those hours.
• To pre-register for testing at the Felician University site you can use the QR code below:

NEW: Due to the backlog for receiving testing results throughout the region, essential employees as well as other faculty, staff, and students who are designated to return to campus and are awaiting their PCR test results, should submit a negative Rapid Test, conducted every 3 days upon reentry, until a negative PCR test is submitted.

Weekly iPad Raffle Drawing
• Students, faculty, and staff who have submitted the required proof of booster vaccination or exemption are eligible to enter the weekly iPad raffle drawings.

• You do not need to re-enter every week if you do not win.
• Submissions will close every Thursday at 12pm and winners will be selected on Friday.
