School of Nursing Receives Scholarship Grant from the Helene Fuld Health Trust

RUTHERFORD, NJ – The Felician University School of Nursing has received a substantial $400,000 grant from the Helene Fuld Health Trust, one of the largest philanthropic foundations in the nation in support of nursing students and nursing education. This grant will provide scholarships for students in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. The award includes current and endowed funds, allowing scholarship opportunities for ABSN students for many years to come.

Dr. Christine Mihal, Dean of the School of Nursing, whose administrative team played a significant role in writing the proposal, says, “We are incredibly grateful to the Helene Fuld Health Trust for their support of our ABSN student nurses, and the confidence they have shown in our program.”

The Felician University School of Nursing has a steadfast reputation for providing the best in nursing education and graduating highly skilled, compassionate nurses in the Felician Franciscan tradition. In 2024, the nursing class achieved an exceptional 94% passing rate on the NCLEX-RN. The online Master of Science in Nursing program is ranked, at 77, among the top 100 programs in the nation by U.S. World News & Report. In 2025, it was also ranked as one of the top online MSN programs by Princeton Review. The ABSN program provides an accelerated path for students who have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree or at least 60 non-nursing college credits. The School of Nursing provides on ground and hybrid learning ABSN programs.

The Helene Fuld Health Trust is committed to enhancing the health, welfare, and education of student nurses. Through a selective process, the Trust seeks to create endowed scholarships for baccalaureate students at chosen nursing schools. Grants are provided to leading nursing institutions that implement innovative programs aimed at developing the professional and leadership skills of nursing students.
