L.T. Struble Having Big Year for Felician University
L.T. Struble is enjoying a strong start to his first season with Felician University in Rutherford.
In 24 games, the 2014 Hammonton High School graduate is hitting .378 (37 for 98). He leads the Golden Falcons in at-bats, runs (28) and stolen bases (13). Struble is tied for the team lead in RBIs (19) and triples (five) and is second in hits, doubles (seven) and walks (11).
Struble began the season playing second base but recently was moved to shortstop.
He went 2 for 4 with two runs in Felician’s 7-2 loss to Chestnut Hill in the first game of a doubleheader last Wednesday. In the second game, a 3-1 win, he went 2 for 2 with a triple, a run and an RBI.
He singled, scored twice and drove in a run in a 12-5 win over Dominican in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday. In the second game, a 7-5 loss, he went 2 for 5 with two runs and an RBI. He went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI in an 11-7 win over Jefferson on Saturday.
Struble is in his first season with the NCAA Division II Golden Falcons, who are 7-17 (5-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) heading into Wednesday’s doubleheader at Wilmington. He previously played two seasons at Camden County College and spent a redshirt season at Coastal Carolina University.
Todd Henry (Egg Harbor Township) doubled and scored a run in Delaware State’s 3-2 loss to Coppin State on March 26.
He went 3 for 5 with a double, a run and an RBI in a 10-5 loss to Georgetown last Wednesday. He singled, scored and drove in a run in an 8-5 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday.
Bill Chillari (St. Augustine Prep) pitched a perfect ninth with three strikeouts in Duke’s 8-0 win over Presbyterian on March 27. He pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing a hit and striking out three, in a 16-4 win over Notre Dame on Sunday.
Josh Arnold (Ocean City) went 62/3 innings, allowing three runs, and got no decision in Fairfield’s 6-5 win over Niagara on Saturday. He allowed five hits and five walks, striking out four. Anthony Boselli (Holy Spirit) singled and walked.
In Hofstra’s 14-6 win over Monmouth on March 27, Sheamus Brazill (Barnegat) went 12/3 innings with four strikeouts. Billy Kral (Holy Spirit) added a strikeout. Brazill pitched two innings in a 11-0 win over Townson on Friday, allowing two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
Mike Vasturia (St. Augustine) allowed a run in two innings of relief, striking out one, in Maryland’s 10-3 loss to Richmond on March 27.
Johnny Malatesta (Vineland) pitched the final two innings for the decision, allowing a hit and a walk with two strikeouts, in New Jersey Institute of Technology’s 4-3 win over Lipscomb on Thursday.
Starting pitcher Jared Kacso (Barnegat) worked four innings Thursday, allowing three runs, two earned, with a strikeout.
Nick Caregnato (Buena Regional) improved to 2-1, allowing an unearned run on two hits in two innings with four strikeouts, in North Carolina Central’s 10-7 win over Norfolk State on March 27. He pitched three shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk with three strikeouts, in a 3-0 loss to Florida A&M on Saturday.
Kyle Gerace (Mainland Regional) pitched a perfect sixth inning in Rutgers’ 6-0 loss to Michigan State on Sunday.
Rob Boselli III (Holy Spirit) went 2 for 3 with a homer and three RBIs for St. John’s in an 11-5 win over Minnesota on Thursday.
Boselli singled, scored twice and drove in a run in a 9-8 loss to Minnesota on Friday. Sean Mooney (Ocean City) pitched 62/3 innings and got no decision. He allowed three runs with seven strikeouts. Boselli went 3 for 4 with a double, a run and an RBI in a 6-3 loss to Minnesota on Sunday.
Anthony Elefante (Lacey Township) pitched a scoreless seventh in Bloomfield’s 4-3 loss to Concordia in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday. In the second game, a 5-4 loss, Elefante doubled and drove in a run. Harry Montero (Millville) singled and scored. In a 12-4 loss to American International last Wednesday, Elefante singled and scored and Montero went 2 for 3 with a double, a run and an RBI.
Andrew Holmes (EHT) singled and scored in Bloomsburg’s 5-4 win over Shippensburg in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. In the second game, a 5-1 loss, he doubled.
In Chestnut Hill’s 7-2 win over Felician last Wednesday, Alec Craig (St. Joseph) doubled and scored twice. Matthew Owens (Barnegat) singled and scored three runs.
Craig went 2 for 3 in a 13-3 loss to West Chester on Thursday. Owens doubled, scored and drove in a run in a 5-3 win over the University of the Sciences in the first of a doubleheader Saturday. In the second game, a 5-3 win, Owens and Craig each scored and Andrew Sibson (Cedar Creek) pitched five innings for a no-decision, allowing three runs and striking out five.
Kyle Cox (Millville) doubled and scored in Gannon’s 7-3 win over Clarion in the first game of a March 27 doubleheader. In the second game, a 3-0 win, he doubled and drove in a run.
He tripled in a 10-4 win and doubled in a 4-1 loss against Seton Hill on Friday. He went 2 for 3 in a 6-1 win over Seton Hill on Saturday.
Roberto Rivera (Millville) went 2 for 4 with a triple, three runs and an RBI in UNC Pembroke’s 15-6 win over Chowan in the first game of a March 27 doubleheader. In the second game, an 8-7 win, he went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI.
He went 2 for 3 with a double and two runs in a 6-5 win over USC Aiken on Thursday. He went 3 for 4 in an 8-3 win over USC Aiken on Friday.
Nick Artymowicz (Ocean City) pitched a scoreless ninth with a strikeout in Southern New Hampshire’s 18-1 win over Bentley on Saturday.
In the University of the Sciences’ 7-3 loss to Goldey-Beacom in the first of a doubleheader Wednesday. Kris Morgenweck (St. Augustine) allowed a run in seven innings with eight strikeouts, and Ryan Johnson (Oakcrest) struck out two in two-thirds of an inning. Morgenweck walked and scored twice in a 12-2 win in the second game.
Nick Grotti (Millville) doubled and scored in West Virginia Wesleyan’s 9-0 win over Urbana on Friday. He singled and scored in a 2-1 loss to Notre Dame College on Saturday.
In Arcadia’s 8-7 win over Messiah on Thursday, Sean Carew (St. Augustine) went 4 for 5 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Ryan Ulrich (Barnegat) got the save, going two shutout innings. He allowed one hit, a walk and struck out two. Carew singled and drove in two runs in a 2-0 win over Penn State Abington on Saturday.
Tyler Norris (Wildwood Catholic) went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and an RBI in Cabrini’s 8-7 win over Haverford on Thursday. He went 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs in an 11-9 loss to Penn College on Friday.
Justin Diefenbach (Lacey) pitched five innings, allowing two runs, one earned, with three strikeouts in Kean’s 7-5 loss to New Jersey City on Saturday.
Justin Epifanio (EHT) went 2 for 4 with an RBI in Montclair State’s 8-1 loss to DeSales on March 27.
Evan Ochlan (Ocean City) had a pinch-hit triple and scored in Ramapo’s 18-5 win over Farmingdale State on Thursday.
Monny Strickland (EHT) went 2 for 4 with three runs and four RBIs in Rowan’s 13-1 win over Neumann on March 26. Justin Smith (Hammonton) pitched a scoreless seventh with one strikeout.
In a 2-0 win over Haverford on March 27, Andrew Cartier (Buena) went seven scoreless, allowing three hits and a walk with eight strikeouts. Strickland went 2 for 4 with an RBI. In a 3-2 win over Neumann last Wednesday, Strickland doubled, scored and drove in a run. Smith pitched three shutout innings, striking out three.
Strickland doubled and drove in a run during Rowan’s doubleheader Saturday, a 6-2 loss and 5-3 win against Ramapo.
Brady Kessler (EHT) went 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs and two RBIs in Stevenson’s 13-12 loss to Hood on March 26. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs and an RBI in a 5-3 loss to Albright on Thursday. He went 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI in a 21-4 loss to Albright on Saturday.
Dom Fiorentino (Ocean City) singled, scored twice and drove in a run in Ursinus’ 8-2 win over Immaculata last Wednesday. He went 2 for 3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs in a 13-12 win over Gwynedd Mercy on Thursday.
In an 11-9 loss to Dickinson in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday, Fiorentino went 2 for 4 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI and Drew Roesch (Absegami) doubled and drove in a run. Fiorentino doubled, scored twice and drove in a run in the second game, a 17-12 loss.
Greg Elfreth (St. Augustine) went 3 for 4 with a double and a run in Widener’s 7-4 win over Arcadia last Wednesday. He went 2 for 2 with a double and a run scored in a 6-1 loss to Lebanon Valley on Saturday.
In Mercer County College’s 11-0 win over ASA Brooklyn on March 27, Dom Boselli (Holy Spirit) went 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBIs. Jimmy Versage (Middle Township) went 2 for 3 with a double, a run and three RBIs and Chris Mormile (Wildwood) pitched two shutout innings with two strikeouts.
In Mercer’s 5-4 win over Brookdale in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday, Versage went 2 for 3 with a double, a run and an RBI, and Boselli had a single and an RBI. In the second game, an 8-0 win, Versage went 2 for 2 with a homer and three RBIs, Boselli singled and scored, and Tyler Knox (Holy Spirit) and Andrew Mormile (Wildwood) each scored.
Chris Sieg (Atlantic County Institute of Technology) singled and scored three runs in Rowan College of Gloucester County’s 19-9 win over Thomas Jefferson (JV) on Thursday.
