Felician University’s First Doctor of Business Administration Graduate

Rutherford, NJ – March 21, 2019 – Felician University’s School of Business and Information Sciences saw its first doctoral candidate graduate as a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), and he is definitely not what you imagined. His name is Elisee (Eli) Joseph, and he is only 24 years old.

Incredibly, Dr. Joseph was able to graduate in only three years, and he credits this feat to the support of Felician University and the flexibility of the doctoral program itself: “Felician is largely responsible for optimizing my objectives through moral support. I was able to implicitly benefit from Felician University’s flexible doctorate program by compounding my academic and professional experience.”

That is, as we say at Felician, The Felician Way of doing things. The DBA program is fully online with a brief residence requirement, and is self-paced, allowing candidates to pursue outside ventures while obtaining their degree. This is exactly how Dr. Joseph managed to thrive in extremely prestigious engagements while studying. As a Forbes Under 30 Scholar, he had scholarship and research opportunities at Forbes; was a faculty member at Columbia University, Queens College, and Marymount Manhattan College; participated in a Harvard Business School certificate program; worked with Google; and gave a Tedx Talk–and that’s only to name a few.

Dr. Joseph said that the incredible support from his advisor, Dr. David Turi, as well as from Kerri Scott, Dean of the School of Business and Information Sciences Dr. Deirdre Christofalo, and President Dr. Anne Prisco was his favorite part of his Felician experience.

“An academic institution is responsible for what you know, but your rapport with people is responsible for who you know and who knows you,” said Dr. Joseph. At Felician University, the personalized advising and relationship building between students and the faculty and staff plays a large role in the success of students. Dr. Joseph is just one outstanding example of how Felician prioritizes their students, setting them up for life-long success.
