Felician University Appoints Samuel A. Delgado to Board of Trustees
Felician University announces that Samuel A. Delgado has been appointed to the University’s Board of Trustees. Mr. Delgado returns to the board having served previously from 2016 to 2018, as well as, on the Felician Council of Regents from 2008 to the present.
Mr. Delgado recently retired as Vice President of External Affairs for Verizon New Jersey. A decorated Marine Corps veteran, he is a founding member of the New Jersey Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 1994, he served on the staff of former New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly in the Republic of Haiti monitoring human rights abuses. He returned to Haiti in 2010 as a liaison to assist the global response for earthquake victims which claimed 250,000 lives.
Mr. Delgado chaired New Jersey4Puerto Rico, raising significant funding for Hurricane Maria relief and continues to be involved in Puerto Rico’s earthquake recovery today. He co-chaired Newark Mayor Ras Baraka’s Housing and Economic Development transition team and has served the city through both the Newark Alliance and as chairman of the Newark Regional Business Partnership. He was appointed by NJ Governor Murphy to serve on his Veteran Affairs transition team subcommittee; and Commission on Puerto Rico Relief.

Mr. Delgado graduated from Marist College and Marine Corps Basic School, Quantico VA. He is a Lead New Jersey Fellow. He lives in Perth Amboy with his wife, Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez, who represents the New Jersey 19th Legislative District.
