Felician University 3rd Annual Veterans Day Ruck March and Naming Ceremony

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician University is proud to announce that the 3rd Annual Veterans Day Ruck March will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023. This year, the march will reverse its course by starting on the Rutherford campus and ending at Obal Hall on the Lodi campus. The walk is approximately 4 miles and registration begins at 9am with step off at 10am.

The Felician University Veterans Day Ceremony will immediately follow and will be highlighted by a re-naming event creating the Leo McGuire Veterans Success Center, formerly the Veterans Student Lounge. Mr. McGuire, a longtime Felician University supporter is an Army veteran, retired Bergen County Sheriff, and alumnus, MBA ‘08.

The Veterans Success Center will be, in McGuire’s words, “a place where we will be seeking ways to integrate the veteran community into overall campus life which, I believe, will assist them in having a greater university experience.” The Center will offer mentoring, a place to study, to feel supported, and to be inspired toward success.

This is the 13th consecutive year that Felician University proudly claims Military Friendly® designation. Felician University is committed to serving all our veteran students by offering veteran tutorial and career development services, special military grants and scholarships, and actively participating in the Yellow Ribbon military educational benefit program.

The VAC held the inaugural Ruck March in 2021 as a means of funding veteran student needs here at Felician. Please support our veteran students, who have served or are serving, by donating to and/or participating in this year’s Veterans Day Ruck March.
