Felician Signs Agreement with South Bergen Jointure Commission
On March 10, Felician University’s Interim President James W. Crawford, III signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Michael Kuchar, Superintendent of the South Bergen Jointure Commission (SBJC) special education public school district. The signing took place in the Theresa Inserra Grand Reception Room in Iviswold Castle on the Rutherford Campus.
The MOU is a collaborative agreement which encourages employees of SBJC and their 15 trustee districts to complete undergraduate and graduate degrees in key areas to meet the needs of the districts and the future of education.
Under the terms of the agreement, SBJC and member District employees can apply for undergraduate and graduate programs and certificate offerings, use scholarship incentives and discounted rates, and transfer existing academic credits.
The agreement reflects the mission of the SBJC and Felician University’s School of Education to improve education for all families including the growing population of children with autism, multiple disabilities, and behavioral disorders.
Of the agreement, President Crawford remarked, “What we do here today reflects our joint mission of learning to improve lives, and continues to make this University a place where dreams matter, and core values empower the growth and change we all need.”
The SBJC has an existing agreement with Felician at the University’s Childcare Center in Lodi.
