The month of April means the sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and folks start playing baseball.

Unfortunately, the last part of this much anticipated trio of April – the baseball part- has been upended by the COVID-19 pandemic which has resulted in a ban on public gatherings in parks and ballfields.

The ancient Greek Philosopher Plato said, “Necessity is the Motherhood of Invention,” and even if we can’t play baseball right now, there’s nothing stopping us from talking about baseball!

With this is mind, Felician Multimedia Communications Specialist Jeff Shelly did a very Felician focused half-hour interview featuring 2019 Felician graduate and New York Mets farmhand L.T. Struble ’19 and two of his teammates Danny Healey Jr. ’19 and Will Kazura ’19 who played with Struble both at Felician and at Camden County College before he was drafted by the Mets in the 29th round in 2019.

Struble spent the summer of 2019 with the Class-R Gulf Coast League Mets. He holds single-season Felician records for runs scored (64), walks (39) and stolen bases (42). Healey and Kazura were themselves “drafted” work in Felician’s Office of University Advancement.

So grab some peanuts and Cracker Jack and get your baseball fix Felician University style, as the former Falcons talk baseball, reminisce about their time together on the team, and how their keeping in shape while not actually being able to play the game they all love- baseball.
