Felician Named Military Friendly for 9th Year
RUTHERFORD, NJ May 28, 2021 – For the ninth consecutive year, Felician University has received the designation of Military Friendly School by Military Friendly ®, which recognizes educational institutions that strongly support programming for veteran students. Felician University received the 2021-2022 Military Friendly status of Silver.
Felician strives to enhance the university experience of student veterans by offering peer tutoring, study assistance, free and private counseling services at the Student Counseling Center, and activities through the Office of Campus Ministry. Felician created a Veteran’s Lounge that includes kitchen and study spaces exclusively for veterans. A chapter of the Student Veterans of America is active at the university. In addition to the G.I. Bill, Felician University awards a Military Grant, and participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program to help support veterans on their degree path. Military-friendly degree programs are designed with veterans in mind to reflect their unique skill sets and the flexibility required by many veteran students, including eight-week sessions and evening classes.
The Military Friendly Schools survey is the longest running and most comprehensive review of colleges and universities serving military and veteran students and includes educational institutions offering certificate programs to doctoral degrees. Felician University is proud of their continued recognition for supporting the men and women who have proudly served our nation.
