Felician Moves Pitch Night Online

Felician University School of Business and Information Sciences is moving ahead with its annual Pitch Night, the University’s own version of Shark Tank, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic it will be held online April 24th instead of on campus.

Pitch Night, is a chance for Felician, students, faculty, staff, and community members to pitch their best business ideas to major investors for a chance to win $5,000 in seed money, and a spot in an Incubation Program that will be held in the summer. Pitch Night judges come from different industries and will have the job of selecting five winners who will compete in the Incubation Program.
Pitch Night started as a way for business students to share ideas that could change the way people work or live. Four of Felician’s last five Pitch Night teams were able to secure funding for their businesses and are currently in the next stages of company creation. The mentoring individuals and teams received at Felician directly translated into their success.

Pitch Night is a direct result of the Lenke Family Innovation Lab, or i-Lab, a modern, open, creative space for students to collaborate and bring ideas to fruition. The i-Lab features multiple iMacs, along with walls of whiteboards allowing students to literally write their ideas all over the walls, see each other’s work, and watch as ideas are brought to life. The-Lab was possible because the School of Business and Information Sciences recognized the limitless power of innovation and investigated how it could offer students the chance to activate their own unique talents. In fact, multiple businesses have already been developed in the i-Lab, all of which are powerfully transformative in nature and benefit people in different ways.
