COVID-19 Remembrance Rocks Painting at Felician University: Honoring Lives Impacted by the Pandemic

Felician University’s Center for Student Engagement honored those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic by inviting students to paint remembrance rocks. The event took place in April under the Rutherford Tent outside the Student Center on the Rutherford campus and was Co-sponsored with Campus Ministry.

Uma Mahalingham, Director of Student Development & Engagement said the project was a way, “To make sure we are supporting the Felician community. So many people have been affected by COVID, lives lost, people ill and the toll that it takes on people. We wanted to make sure we are acknowledging those individuals and honoring them, and providing support to the Felician faculty, staff and students.”

Some of the Remembrance Rocks were decorated with messages of support and hope, while others carried reminders of the importance of hand washing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
