Christmas at the Castle

Experience the Magic of ‘Christmas at the Castle’ at Felician University

A Yuletide tradition continued at Felician on December 3 as Community leaders and others were invited to the annual Christmas at the Castle event.

Senior and Choir Director Eddie Cannon II played Christmas music, and lead the Felician Gospel Choir in singing Holiday songs. “I love to see people’s faces when they see the castle, especially at this time of year,” said Cannon.

Christmas at the Castle featured the solemn yet joyful Polish tradition of breaking and sharing the oplatek, or Sacred Christmas wafer. Sr. Honorata Crzeszczuk, Asssistant Professor of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Felician says the wafer is a symbol of ordinary bread that is made extraordinary, adding “there is nothing that is ordinary about Felician’s students or faculty.”

Iviswold may look like a castle from the outside but make no mistake the University is grounded by its Franciscan values; values that are put into practice not just at Holiday time but all year long with students taking part in campus ministry outreach programs throughout the year.
