Celebrating Black History Month at Felician University!
Felician University welcomes you to join us this week in celebration of Black History Month. This year, we are happy to announce that we will be screening various films and a documentary, as well as hosting Michael Ajagbe as a guest speaker. Mr. Ajagbe, who will be speaking at Felician on February 11 th , has worked with many different demographics within social work settings. He is currently working at Rutgers University, overseeing the Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor training. Mr. Ajagbe has committed himself to providing therapeutic services that are both creative and culturally competent. Helping others in their journey toward healing and growing is a passion that he pursues, while simultaneously promoting social justice. Join us in Ed Commons, Room 103, at 3 P.M. to hear Michael Ajagbe speak.
Attend our screening of the documentary Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution to learn about an important piece of American history. This award-winning documentary highlights the rise and fall of the Black Panther Party during the 1960’s, giving insight into the brutal reality of the day-to-day oppression that the Black community faced not all that long ago. This documentary will be shown on February 13 th in Ed commons, Room 103, at 6 P.M.
On Friday, February 15th , we will be showing films all day in Castleview to learn about, remember, and celebrate Black History Month. Join us in this year’s celebration!
