Counseling and Wellness Services

Welcome to Felician’s Counseling and Wellness Services (CAWS). Felician students have free access to licensed counselors to help them navigate life challenges, including the new challenges that come with being a college student. Students also have access to Felician’s nurse for healthcare needs.

Counseling Services

Felician students have access to free counseling services, offered in-person and online, with New Jersey State licensed mental health counselors. Whether you’re looking for help to get through a difficult life event or simply to navigate the challenges that come with being a college student, our counselors are here to help.

You’re free to discuss any topic with our counselors, but here are some common topics Felician students discuss in their counseling sessions.

If you need assistance after office hours, you can use the following resources.

You may arrange an appointment by emailing counselingcenter@felician.eduor calling a clinician, or stopping by to make an appointment. We are located in the Rutherford, Student Center, 4C. We offer in-person and tele-counseling.

You will be asked to complete some confidential e-forms before your first visit. These e-forms include an informed consent form and answering some questions about your concerns which takes about 10-15 minutes.

During your initial appointment with a clinician, you will have the opportunity to talk about your concerns and learn coping skills. Based on the information presented, the clinician will discuss with you recommendations for continued counseling here or may discuss referrals to services off-campus.

The mission of Counseling and Wellness Services is to put students’ health and wellbeing first.  CAWS provides educational opportunities as well as prevention and intervention services with compassion.

Wellness Services promote total wellness through our focus on holistic principles and practices in a caring environment.  Wellness Services is staffed with a registered nurse who offers free preventive and acute health care for all Felician students.  The office is open from 8:30 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday during the academic year.

Counseling Services is committed to providing free, confidential quality mental health services to help our students achieve balance and manage the stresses in their life successfully. We are staffed with mental health counselors who are available for students’ well-being.  The office is open from 8:30 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday throughout the semester.

Counseling and Wellness Services believe that individuals have the best chance of reaching their greatest potential when they are happy and healthy within their environment.  Therefore, the primary goal of CAWS is to keep our students well.

Wellness and Health Resources

Felician’s Wellness Services office is located on the Rutherford Campus and strives to promote total wellness through our focus on holistic principles and practices in a caring environment. Our nursing staff is available to help you, and you can click the Health Portal button below to schedule an appointment now.

Located in the lower level of Milton Court, Rutherford Campus

Hours during the Fall and Spring semesters are:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The last appointment is at 3:00 p.m.
