Project Tele-Team Study

Project Tele-Team: Training Parents of Toddlers with autism in Pivotal Response Treatment

A study is being initiated at Felician University to assess the utility of a Tele-Health training program to prepare parents in the use of Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT).

About the Study

  • All sessions will occur via Tele-health using a password protected Zoom account.
  • The children and parent will participate in an Ecological Learning Assessment (ELA) that will involve 2 sessions. One session for an interview with the parent and a second for recording video segments. Periodic assessments will also occur.
  • Our team will train and support the parent(s) in PRT during one hour twice per week sessions over a week end period. These sessions will involve the Behavior Skills Training approach with an instructor providing the parent with information, modeling, feedback as the parent implements the procedures with the child. All sessions will occur via Tele-health.

Participant Eligibility

  • Children who have a diagnosis of ASD or show the core characteristics and range in age from approximately 2 to 5 years.
  • Families have a computer or cell phone and internet service for Zoom sessions.
