Director of Marketing and Communications

Felician University is presently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced marketing professional to serve as the Director of University Marketing and Communications.  The Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and execution of comprehensive communication and marketing strategies that enhance the University’s brand and reputation.  S/he will focus on advancing the University’s mission through public relations, media relations, branding, digital marketing, and internal communications. The Director serves as the primary communications advisor to university leadership and is responsible for managing crisis communications and enhancing the institution’s visibility.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, ideally within higher education.
  • Demonstrated expertise in media relations, digital marketing, crisis communications, and branding.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including media, government officials, and donors.
  • Familiarity with digital content management, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Experience working in higher education or a similarly complex organization.
  • Knowledge of SEO, content marketing, and digital analytics.
  • Crisis communications experience in a university or non-profit setting.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaign
  • Willingness and ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan Mission and values of the University.
