Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Master’s Occupational Therapy Program

Felician University is presently seeking an academically qualified, experienced, licensed and certified educator to serve as Associate Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in the Master’s Occupational Therapy Program. The Associate Professor/Coordinator ensures the appropriate course-level rigor in classroom instruction, assessment methodologies, and delivery of course content, planning documents including but not limited to syllabi, lesson plans and assessments.  S/he oversees the integration, instruction and assessment of the University’s five learning competencies for each course taught, and the establishment and maintenance of a classroom climate that is safe and consistent with university mission and values. The Associate Professor/Coordinator manages the assignment and orientation of fieldwork educators, as well as student placement at fieldwork sites, and provides a minimum of 2 hours of Open Skills Lab to support the classroom’s teaching and learning process.  S/he oversees all administrative functions of the Occupational Therapy Program.

Required Education:

Earned doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution

Qualifications:

Occupational Therapy certification and New Jersey license required; 2+ years’ clinical experience as an occupational therapist; proven discipline-specific experience, teaching experience preferred; goal-oriented, resourceful and pro-active in building external relationships; proven experience in balancing multiple priorities in a complex and changing environment; professional and engaging demeanor, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; superior supervisory, analytical and planning skills; demonstrated ability to foster and promote a positive and cooperative work environment; demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment, sensitivity and integrity in managing confidential information;  willingness and ability to travel to meet with students and prospects as needed; willingness to support and promote the Franciscan Felician mission and values of the University.
