Felician University, the Franciscan University of New Jersey, seeks an academically qualified specialist to teaching in the School of Arts and Sciences, Masters of Occupational Therapy Program, for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Assistant Professor supports the University mission by providing students with knowledge and skills in the specialized areas of assigned instruction. The successful candidate should have experience teaching in a traditional and online environment, and must be willing to pursue Felician online certification. S/he must have an educational background in the fundamentals of their discipline as well as a wealth of real-world experience to bring to class discussions and case analyses.

Required Education:
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related discipline required, doctoral degree preferred
Qualifications:
2+ years’ experience in pediatrics or mental health in an OT setting; demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in the field of occupational therapy and associated disciplines; 2+ years’ experience in teaching, preferably in an institution of higher learning; current OT certification in good standing; current NJ license in good standing in Occupational Therapy; minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as an OT; goal-oriented, resourceful and pro-active in building external relationships; proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex and changing environment; professional and engaging demeanor, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies with sensitivity in a diverse community; exceptional written and verbal communications skills; superior supervisory, analytical, and planning skills; demonstrated ability to foster a positive and cooperative work environment; demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and integrity in managing confidential information; willingness and ability to travel to meet with students and prospects as necessary; willingness and ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan mission and core values of the University.
Salary Range:
$75,100 – 82,700 commensurate with rank and experience
