Associate Director of Housing Operations

Felician University is presently seeking an experienced, highly motivated, creative, self-motivated, and student-centric student residential life professional to serve as Associate Director for Housing Operations.  Reporting to the Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Associate Director assumes a major leadership role in providing a sense of community within the residential halls and has overall responsibility for developing and administering a comprehensive residential community educational program as well as maintaining the safe and comfortable living environment that meets the goals of the university.

The Associate Director for Residential Education and Development is required to live on campus and be a visible presence during and outside of office hours, including evenings and weekends. S/he will be provided an unfurnished, one-bedroom apartment.

Required Education:

BA/BS degree required, Master’s degree in Higher Education/College Student Personnel or related field preferred.

Qualifications:

2+ years of full-time, progressive professional, experience managing overall operations of residential life and housing that includes: housing policies and processes; mentoring students, safety programs, alcohol awareness programs, educational programming, recreation and social programs and orientation programs, policy development, marketing, managing staff, budgeting, billing, damage assessments and safety; demonstrated supervisory, administrative, organizations skills; superior written and verbal communications skills; proven ability to manage stress; conflict, and frustration constructively; positive attitude with the ability to serve as a role model for students in attitude and conduct; experience in conflict resolution and mediation in a residence hall setting; comprehensive knowledge of effective methods for managing/coaching diverse populations of students; proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team; ability to prioritize and manage multiple challenging projects, tasks and situations;  willingness and availability to work a flex schedule as an on-call professional, including nights and weekends (extended vacations limited to published University break schedule); willing ness and ability to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices; knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly Felician University software programs such as eRezLife, Colleague, Maxient, and Microsoft Office; ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan mission and core values of the University.

Salary Range:  $53.5 – 71.1, commensurate with education, certifications and experience
