Felician University to Celebrate the Inauguration of President Mildred A. Mihlon, PhD on Dec. 5

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician University will formally inaugurate its new president, Dr. Mildred A. Mihlon, as the seventh university president on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024. Dr. Mihlon officially began her presidency on Feb. 28.

The Inauguration Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst, NJ. A ceremonial presentation of the presidential medallion will be followed by a special blessing.

After the Mass, a Community Celebration & Reception will take place at 12:30 p.m. on the university’s Rutherford campus. The event will feature a live DJ, food, games and various outdoor activities for all to participate in.

The celebration continues in the evening with the President’s Scholarship Reception at Il Villaggio in Carlstadt, NJ at 6 p.m. This reception will honor donors who have generously supported student scholarships, as well as the students who have benefited from these contributions. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward student scholarships.

With over 25 years of leadership experience in higher education, Dr. Mihlon has demonstrated a deep commitment to Felician University’s core values of life and learning. Her career includes service at predominantly Hispanic and minority-serving Catholic institutions, with missions centered on service and justice.
