On June 26, 2021, during Felician University’s School of Education Commencement Ceremony, Elenita Elias got to celebrate her Master of Arts in Education and a proposal from her now-fiancé, Jheremy Valderrama.

After Elias received her diploma and began walking off the stage, she was greeted by Valderrama, who was down on one knee with a ring in his hands, ready to pop the question in front of the entire auditorium. Elias responded with a “yes!” and accepted the proposal.

Valderrama served in the Marine Corps as a corporal in Operation Enduring Freedom. He was awarded numerous ribbons and medals such as the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and the NATO International Security Assistance Force Medal.

Felician University congratulates Elias and Valderrama on their engagement and wishes them and their families the best of luck for their future.
