Felician University is proud to announce the salutatorian for the Class of 2021, Brittany Sasiadek. She will be receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Commencement on Saturday, June 26, and will be speaking at the Baccalaureate Mass on Friday, June 25.

In describing the honor, Sasiadek stated, “Being the salutatorian of Felician University’s class of 2021 is a remarkable accomplishment that I’m so proud of. My perseverance was not the only thing that got me here, but also the support from my family, friends, and professors. Being the salutatorian serves not only as a reflection of my hard work and determination, but that my efforts have tremendously paid off.”

Her first academic advisor and English professor, Dr. Sherida Yoder, helped Sasiadek navigate through the many courses offered at Felician to find her perfect fit. Dr. Yoder said of Sasiadek, “I had the great pleasure to know her from her freshman year until now. From first meeting her, I could tell how intelligent and conscientious she was,” she continued, “I looked forward to seeing her since she was one of those special students who [totally] took in everything. I know that she had many personal challenges along the way, but she was equal to them all. She is such an inspiring student. I look forward to what she will do in her future and how her accomplishments will make her a genuine role model for others.”

A Wallington, NJ native, Sasiadek chose Felician because of the friendly, genuine, tight-knit community. Referring to herself as family oriented, the close proximity to home was an added bonus.

Brittany Sasiadek aspires to work for a morning show in New York City in the production aspect of the communications field.

The Felician University Salutatorian honor is selected by meeting the university’s standards in the academic field. Criteria that must be met include, but are not limited to, completion of the baccalaureate degree program, one of the three highest GPAs in the graduating class, service to the university and community, a recommendation by the Academic Standing and Degrees Committee, and a recommendation by the respective school.
