New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy honored Tammy Medzadourian as part of a December tribute to New Jerseyans who have lost their lives to COVID-19.

Tammy Medzadourian, a Washington Township resident passed away in December at the age of 54. She lived in Paramus for 27 years and served with dedication on the Paramus Ambulance Corps. Tammy leaves behind her husband Deek and four children including her son Deek, Jr., a Felician nursing student, and her nephew, Travis Fonseca, a student in Felician’s Masters in Computer Science Program who serves as an IT liaison for the Felician sisters in Lodi. She is also survived by a sister, and a brother.

Tammy was affectionately known as a “Dance Mom” for the ongoing support she gave her daughters and others in the dance community. In paying tribute Governor Murphy said Tammy loved the Jersey Shore, going to Billy Joel & Bruce Springsteen concerts and rooting for the NY Giants, Rangers and Yankees.

After her passing a large candlelight vigil was held on the block where Tammy lived in Washington Township. “It looked like a runway,” said Deek Jr., who said he was deeply moved by the number of people who turned out to honor his Mom.
