Residence Hall Director

Felician University is presently seeking an experienced, highly motivated, creative, self-motivated, and student-centric residential life professional to serve as a Residence Hall Director.

Reporting to the Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Residence Hall is responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging residential community though effective and efficient management of the daily operations of an assigned residence hall, including but not limited to student staff supervision, community development, crisis response, policy enforcement, and support for the student conduct process. The RHD collaborates with Housing and Residence Life leadership to implement a residential curriculum that promotes student learning, leadership, and engagement in alignment with institutional values.

The position of Residence Hall Director is a live-on, position that requires a consistent, visible presence—including evenings, weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation. The RHD will be provided with a partially furnished, one-bedroom apartment.

Required Education:

BA/BS degree required, Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling or related field preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs,
  • in a college or university residence hall setting.
  • Demonstrated skills in supervision, crisis response, program development, and administrative operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, and campus partners.
  • Proven ability to manage conflict and stress constructively, with experience in mediation and student support within a residential setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to support diverse student populations in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Commitment to student development and alignment with the mission, values, and culture of Felician University.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and participate in an on-call duty rotation; extended time off is limited to the university’s published break periods.
  • Experience implementing or supporting a residential curriculum or structured educational programming model.
  • Familiarity with student conduct processes and documentation platforms (e.g., Maxient).
  • Knowledge of conference housing operations or summer transitional programs (e.g., bridge programs).
  • Proficiency with housing management systems, particularly eRezLife (eRez).
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Asana) and communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams) for coordination and collaboration.
  • Awareness of current trends in residence life, student development theory, and inclusive community-building practices.
  • Ability and willingness to support and promote the Felician Franciscan core values and mission of the University.

Salary Range:  $43,800 – 46,800, commensurate with education, certifications and experience
