Assistant Director, Human Resources and Employee Relations

Felician University is presently seeking an experienced, highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Human Resources professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Employee Relations Specialist.

Reporting to the Director Human Resources, the Assistant Director supports and provides oversight of the daily operations of the Office of Human Resources and serves as the university’s senior advisor for employee relations and training. S/he collaborates with the Director and the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Employee Benefits in the management of the full employee life cycle—from onboarding to retirement, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, advising administration on workforce strategy, employment policy development, and aligning human resources practices with institutional mission, goals, and budget.

Required Education:

BS/BA in human resources, business, public administration or related field, master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ progressively responsible experience in Human Resources management.
  • 3+ years’ demonstrated experience in employee relations management.
  • Proven knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources information systems, ADP experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver professional development programs.
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Superior interpersonal, counseling and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of investigative methods and analysis techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee relations principles and practices.
  • Ability and willingness to support and promote the Felician Franciscan core values and mission of the University.

Salary Range:  $77,000 – 95,000
