President Prisco Receives NOIAW Honor

Felician University President Dr. Anne Prisco was honored January 14 by The Greater New York Region of the National Organization of Italian American Women (NOIAW) at its Three Wise Women Epiphany Celebration in New York City.

The mission of the Greater New York Region of the National Organization of Italian American Women (NOIAW) is to unite and connect women through Italian culture and heritage. NOIAW annually celebrates the achievement of women of Italian ancestry, such as Dr. Prisco, a proud first-generation Italian-American who has worked to establish Italian programs, partnerships, and community business sponsorships at Felician University in New Jersey and Italy.

In receiving the NOIAW honor Dr. Prisco said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to enhance the educational experiences of our students with innovative academic programs that bring students closer to the rich culture, language and people of Italy.”

One of the ways Felician University accomplishes that is through its Center for Italian Programs & the Office of International Programs which offers students a variety of academic opportunities, and experiences to explore Italy’s culture, language and people.

Felician’s work dovetails with NOIAW’s mission of promoting, cultivating and preserving Italy’s extraordinary cultural legacy. Felician signed a memorandum of understanding in 2018 with the Italian Culture on the Net (ICoN), a consortitum of 16 Italian universities, and is currently working to create partner programs with the support of the Consul General. Felician is currently creating additional programs here in New Jersey and abroad.

Also honored at the event were June Grasso, Bloomberg Journalist and Anchor, and Stephanie A. Raneri, Executive Director of the Isaac H. Tuttle Fund.
