Assistant Dean of Career and Experiential Learning

Felician University is presently seeking a resourceful, collaborative, student-centric, and goal-oriented student career planning professional to serve as the Assistant Dean of Career and Experiential Learning.  Reporting to the Dean of the Center for Career and Academic Success, the Assistant Dean is an experienced innovator and leader who plays a key role in the strategic vision and management, operations, services, programs, budget and staff of the Center for Career & Academic Success (CCAS), which serves all Felician students and alumni, positioning them for success in an increasingly complex world. S/he evaluates the nature of the student experience, ensuring that students at all levels have access to exemplary career experiences in order to make student satisfaction a priority. In collaboration with academic advisors and faculty, the Assistant Dean ensures that career services are developed and implemented appropriately for students and alumni at varying levels of professional experience in the form of resources, education & curriculum, advising, and internships.

Required Education:

Master’s degree in college student personnel, higher education administration or a related field

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ professional experience in career services, preferably in a collegiate environment;
  • Proven experience serving in a leadership capacity within career services, with progressive leadership experience;
  • Demonstrated expertise in career assessments, employment trends, legal issues in employment and employer cultivation.
  • Proven ability to network, develop relationships, collaborate with industry leaders, key employers and organizations to expand partnerships that grow career opportunities for undergraduates and graduates students;
  • Demonstrated collaborative perspective; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituencies including but not limited to: students, faculty, staff, families, alumni and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, act collaboratively and advocate for student preparation for a dynamic economy and a changing world;
  • Experience with budget planning and implementation, strong fiscal management, analytical skills and technology resourcing;
  • Knowledge of effective assessment plans and evidence of innovative marketing strategies;
  • Competency in working with the needs of diverse student and alumni populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion;
  • Ability to foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative work atmosphere and energetic collaborative leadership;
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to speak articulately and persuasively in public gatherings/workshops.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate career readiness into the curriculum and co-curriculum strategically
