Information Systems Analyst

Felician University is presently seeking a dynamic, detailed and service-oriented information technology specialist to serve as Systems Analyst in the Office of Information Systems. Reporting to the Director for Information Systems, the Analyst assists the senior staff with writing and/or modifying computer programs, testing database queries/modifications to verify accuracy and completeness, and evaluating system failures, making corrections to data, programs or operating system language as needed. S/he works extensively with various reporting tools and supports software solutions, including, but not limited to: the SLATE Customer Relationship Management System, the Adirondack Housing Management System, Knowledge NOW. The analyst provides technical and analytical support for the Ellucian Colleague Student Information System (SIS), and collaborates with the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Controller, Registrar and other administrative/academic departments to assist them in achieving their goals and requirements.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science or equivalent required, Master’s degree preferred

Functional knowledge in Ellucian Colleague, MS SQL Server 2012, and MS T-SQL. Preferred experience with Crystal Reports, Visual Basic, MS Office and other methods as needed to create reports for end users on campus; automate internal (within the information systems and external (update or export data to or from the information system) data system functionality; high degree of personal motivation, self-management and detail orientation; diverse organizational, analytical and technical skills in the areas of project and process management, systems analysis and design, report writing, systems integration, development and maintenance; skill in application development utilizing Envision Basic; familiar with UniData; well-developed critical thinking skills; ability to communicate both verbal and in writing with both technical staff and customers.
