More than two million people are currently employed in the field of information technology in the United States, and the U. S. Department of Labor projects that computer-related fields will experience very high growth rates through 2018.
In response to this need Felician College has designed an innovative program for the growing concerns of government and corporations today, these include; cybercrime, identity theft, credit history theft and personal medical information. This program allows you to earn your bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), with parallel certification in Computer Security and Information Assurance in about two years if you have an Associates Degree or about 60 credits. Classes are a combination of traditional classroom instruction, laboratory, and on-line instruction so you can continue to work full-time while you earn your degree.
The program focuses on a wide range of topics such as:
- Computer Forensics of Security
- E-commerce
- IT hardware and systems software
- Network and data communications security
- Managing systems information security
- Database management systems, with a special emphasis on Computer Security and Information Assurance
- Cryptography Technologies
Courses & Curriculum
The curriculum is designed in accordance with the guidelines of the American Association of Computing Machinery, Association for Information Systems, and Association of Information Technology Professionals.

Outcomes
Skilled CIS graduates are in demand to design computer information systems that will effectively meet the challenges facing U.S. corporations and government. Assurance and Security (IAS), graduates will learn theories that will set up the defenses for business and government organizations. The CIS program provides a firm foundation in the liberal arts, while assuring in-depth study of the discipline of computer information systems.
